Cairn's Birdwing butterfly
Cairn's Birdwing butterfly found in Northern Australia on green leaf with dewdrop. This butterfly has a wingspan of almost 7 inches. These butterflies only lay eggs on rainforest Pipevine leaves 'Aristolochia tagala' and 'Pararistolochia deltantha' , which give the butterflies a toxic quality to would-be predators. Brightly colored butterflies are often toxic to birds.
